This week in class we are working on portraits. My colleague Jake has been leading the lectures and I'm enjoying learning right along with everyone else. I've never really focused on the geometry of the face like we are doing this week, so this has been a valuable learning experience.
Here are a few sketches I've made of the students in my class. In each of these I feel like I was able to capture some qualities of each person, but definitely not all. Specifically, defining the chin and forehead gave me trouble.
And oh, poor Sarah...she is so much prettier than I drew her...unfortunately, I started out with her eye too big (or the rest of her face too little) and could never recover!
