more moro please

Don't get me wrong, I'm not totally inept in the kitchen...it's just that Edgar's mom is that good. She knows how to add a pinch of this and a flick of that to make cardboard taste like filet mignon. It's incredible...magical even. I, on the other hand, am a champ when it comes to following recipes. That's why when Edgar cooked up some traditional Dominican fare the other night (feeling pretty lucky) I documented the ingredients for future purposes.cooking with edgarIn case you're curious, it's super easy. Simply saute the onions until they burn (whoops! forgot the oil in my illustrated menu) and then add the rest of the ingredients. Cook over medium high heat, covered, until the rice is nice and done (about 20 minutes). It's really quite terrific.

Enjoy more 'cooking' with Edgar here.

What a cute idea - an illustrated recipe. I'm so jealous of your drawing skills! My life in IARC would have been so much easier if only. Hahaha!

this is exactly how i cook. i saute onions until they burn, and then throw everything else in. and as long as rice is involved, it always turns out!

My grandma taught me to make this. I never knew what it was called. I thought it was a Puerto Rican thing...
