lines of love

With this said, I'm hereby redoubling my efforts to draw the boys. Their time as babies is fleeting and I want them to one day look back at my sketches and see how much their mom studied [and adored] their little faces, hands, feet.

Oh, I think that sketch is adorable! All those sweet little curves... delicious. :-)

You won't even remember what they looked like back them. Please draw them regularly and share your wonderful sketches with us!

Oh, I'm so glad to see you doing this- they really do grow up blindingly fast - study every little roll of baby fat! Before you know it, they'll be long and lean and running too fast to draw them!

LOVE this! Reminds me of "The only kiss worth stealing if from a sleeping baby." So sweet.

Oh yes, do keep drawing them...they will love it one day! My three love to see drawings I've made of them over the years;even if I do ask them to sit still for a few minutes so I can capture their fleeting moments. This is a precious drawing!

Maybe you don't think your art compares to the real things, but you do a darned beautiful facsimile! They will love these sketches of when they're grown.

your kids are going to have the coolest baby books ever! how many parents can render their kids' development with pen and ink like you do? i am so impressed that you have been able to keep up with your illustration while they're so little. you inspire me. xo

Congrats, Suzanne! I haven't been by in a while (busy with my own 8 month old!) and am delighted to see that your boys have been born and are growing and healthy. It really does go by fast, doesn't it? Enjoy sketching them now while they're not mobile yet, because as soon as they start crawling and standing it's going to harder! :)

This is amazing for so many reasons: I was never able to capture Nora, even sleeping, because I was so darn intimidated. You just dove right in there with a pen and I admire you for that. Then you added color and made it all look so Suzanne. I love the angle too.
