the gift that keeps giving

zinnias
Between twins and working on our business, we didn't have a lot of extra time or money to invest in growing our garden this past spring and summer.  Fortunately, however, our yard wasn't completely bare as Edgar doesn't 'believe in' annuals, and the perennials he'd planted in the past continued to thrive.  Additionally, my mom shared a bucket full of zinnia seeds from her garden.  We planted them around our mailbox and they grew and grew and grew and grew.  As a result, we've had vases of the brightly colored flowers scattered throughout our house for months.  Sadly, this last frost has taken it's toll...but the remaining zinnias have given us the gift of more seeds for seasons to come.

Pin It Now!

We're with Edgar. Annuals take too much work. Perennials keep on giving. :) Love this painting of the flowers in the Erlenmeyer flasks!
