adventures in interning

anopensketchbook_internmaxart
Max always wakes up from his afternoon nap a good 30 minutes before brother. Lately, he likes to spend this time sitting on my lap, at my desk, drawing. I can't tell you how much this thrills me. Not to mention, I'm really digging the 'collaborations' that result when he puts an extra color pencil in my hand and motions me to draw along with him. I feel this one, from last week, is especially nice.

Oh, how sweet! And I love that his work is well-dated.

I betcha he makes sure to wake up earlier just for this. Little guys are pretty savvy to that kind of thing...

Aw, those are keepsakes, every one of them! I'm so touched to hear that you involve your little one in your work. He will grow up with you as a role model, knowing you in a way that many children never know their parents. :) I have drawing that my own son did when he was 2. He sat down and said, "I'm drawing a square." very seriously. And by golly, it was pretty square! I thought he was a genius and saved the drawing in my special MOM box.
